Here you will find all important details about your stay with us on Lake Maggiore: arrival, check-in | check-out, payment conditions, booking conditions, and other helpful information for your vacation.
For a better overview, we have separated the details for our rooms and suites as well as apartments and vacation houses.
Important info on rooms
Arrival & departure
- Check-in: 2:00 to 9:00 pm at the reception desk of Hotel Posta al lago. Please let us know if you are arriving later.
- Check-out: by 10:00 am
- Parking: public parking nearby with a parking card for CHF 5 per day. You can purchase the card from us.
- E-parking: we have several parking spaces available for e-bikes with charging opportunities as well as a charging station for e-cars.
- If you should arrive by bus, please exit at the "Porto-Ronco POSTA" stop.
Payment
- Forms of payment: cash, Visa, Master, EC card
Prices
- in addition to the room price - CHF 4.65 per person (for those 14 and older) / day
- Ticino Ticket: already included in the price
Cancellation conditions
- Up to 1 week prior to arrival: free
- 6 days or less prior to arrival: you will be charged for 1 night in the booked room
Children
- Up to 2 yrs. old: free in the parents’ room
- Children’s bed is available for free
Cuisine
- Breakfast: 8:00 am to 10:00 am
- Restaurant: open daily from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm | closed on Tuesday. Kitchen open from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm as well as 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Pets
- We only accept small dogs in our hotel rooms.

Bus stop and boat boarding dock are located right outside the hotel.
Additional details about our rooms
- The rooms in Posta al Lago include a refrigerator. Upon request, we will fill the fridge with your favorite drinks.
- Our rooms are all non-smoking rooms. Smoking is permitted on the balcony.

Payment
- Forms of payment: cash, EC card
- Deposit: your booking will be confirmed and guaranteed with a deposit of CHF 500 to 1000.
Prices
- Visitor’s tax: in addition to the room price - CHF 3.25 per person (for those 14 and older) / day.
- If you would like to take advantage of the Ticino Ticket, you can book this by upgrading your visitor's tax to 4.65 per day / person.
Pets
- A maximum of 1 dog is allowed in our apartments and vacation houses upon arrangement with the reception desk.

Cancellation conditions
- 1 month prior to arrival: free
- Afterwards: we will keep the deposit as a cancellation fee
Children
- Children’s bed and high chair: we will be happy to provide these for free.
Amenities
- Bed linens, towels, and dish towels are available. An extra change of linens and towels is possible: bed linens CHF 10 / per bed, towels CHF 5 per apartment / 2-3 people and CHF 10 / 4 or more people
- Kitchen: equipped with basic supplies such as seasonings (salt, pepper), 1 garbage bag, toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, tabs, coffee capsules, soap. If you need additional products, simply ask at the reception desk.
Cuisine
- Breakfast: you are welcome to book breakfast in the hotel.
- Restaurants: Restaurant Rivalago is located in the hotel.
- Bakery | groceries: located in Porto Ronco near the hotel. You will find shopping opportunities in Ascona or Brissago (5 min. by car).
Surroundings & recreation
- Access to the Porto Ronco beach and lake: upon check-in, we will be happy to inform you where the swimming areas are located in Porto Ronco and how to reach the lake.
